Originally from Harleysville, Pennsylvania, Matt graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in 2006. Matt spent two years in voluntary service in Fresno, California before moving back to Harrisonburg. He returned to EMU in 2009 as an admissions counselor and after three years Matt transitioned into the role of Associate Director of Admissions. Matt served in this role until the fall of 2015 when he was named Director of Admissions.
Micah Shristi works with international students in his role as International Admissions Counselor and Co-director of International and Multicultural Student Services. He served in Nepal with Mennonite Central Committee (2008-2012) and in Colombia with Mennonite Mission Network (2003-2005). Micah graduated from EMU in 2000 with a B.A. in English and he went on to complete an M.A. in Industrial Technology at Appalachian State University. In his free time Micah enjoys spending time with his two young sons, solar energy projects, gardening and cycling.
Originally from Durham, North Carolina, Phil graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in 2011. Phil began his work in admissions after earning a B.S. in Business Administration, and he worked primarily with prospective students from NC and VA, including Harrisonburg city and Rockingham county.
After two years in admissions, Phil stepped into the role of Assistant Director of Student Programs and Orientation. He spent three years inspiring student leaders at EMU and impacting the campus through student programming. This included direct oversight of the rec sports program, fitness center, game room, campus activities council, and new student orientation programs.
In 2016, Phil earned an MBA graduate degree from EMU. He is thrilled to currently serve as the Associate Director of Admissions.
