Applied Social Sciences
Be a Catalyst for Social Change
EMU’s department of applied social sciences offers *majors in social work, peacebuilding and development, and environmental sustainability *, equipping students to follow EMU’s mission and “witness faithfully, serve compassionately and walk boldly in the way of nonviolence and peace.”
Our students become catalysts for constructive social change, serving and leading all over the world. Our graduates are working hand-in-hand with children in the slums of Calcutta, effecting change in U.S. policy in Washington, D.C., and publishing scientific research with real-life applications.
